What...a post?

I don't post anything because I usually feel guilty about never posting anything. But this was super cute and it has to be shared.

Went to Red Robin last night with the girls. E & B got balloons on the way out. E got two of them since she asked the nice lady for a pink AND and red one. We get to the car and I'm getting E buckled in when the red balloon pops off the string and blows away. I lift her up to show her what happened and she let go of the pink balloon...alligator tears. I go back in and get two more balloons for my sweet girl.

We get home and make it into the house. The girls are playing playing playing and loving the balloons. We try all kinds of colored ribbon onto them to make them fancier. Then...BoOm...E's balloon pops on the ceiling. Good thing I got two right? So I convince E that she has one more and that she can still play with. Everything will be okay. Not five minutes later and, you guessed it...bazooka boom...E's last balloon pops! AHHH! HUGE tears...sackcloth... ashes, you get the idea. I scoop her up in my arms and try to console her as much as possible. To no avail...I mean how would I feel if four of my favorite things blew up? At this point I really don't know what I can do but hold her and love on her. That's when B comes over and in her sweet little voice goes,"ere Eswee." and hands her sister her very own little balloon. My heart just melted!

In the first place how in the world B's one little balloon outlasted all four of E's? I don't know. But for B to think to give it to E on her own is even more amasing! I love it and hope that they continue to help each other and support each other thier whole lives through. That's what sista's are for! I know mine have done the same for me & I love them for it!

P.S. Our whole little experience reminds me of a filmstip -yikes- that I watched in kindergarten or maybe first grade. Maybe you remember it too, The Red Balloon. It's about a little boy and his friend balloon. He loves this red balloon! They go everywhere together and do everything together. Then this really mean kid pops it! The boy is SOO sad. Then all these other ballons come and they take the boy up into the sky. (The 80's were wierd...) I actually saw this show at our library the other day and just about checked it out. Maybe it would have helped the situation a little. Next time we go to the library I'm hunting it down. Although I'm sure it will still be there!

I think you were the sister that liked to pop everyone else's balloons. Just kidding, sisters are wonderful to have!

Where's the love Lese? 3 attacks in one day, and don't even live by you! :)

That is so amazing that she was willing to share her balloon. You must be doing something right as a mom!

I totally dread my kids getting balloons just for that reason. They are the funnest, but someone always ends up in tears!

Adorable! I think I saw that Red Balloon show too - - that is what I see in my mind when I hear the 99 Red Balloons song from Cranberries...Anyway, I love that little story you shared, those moments are priceless!
